There was a very nice show on TV yesterday celebrating the UNESCO World Heritage 40 years. It showed several of the amazing natural or human-built places we have in the wonderful world. It was two hours of pure delight.

A quick look on the website once the show is done, taught me that among the 936 registered properties, 37 are in France (not bad!) and 5 are in Lebanon (not bad at all).

Another quick look at the list I realized that I have seen 13 of the 936! It’s a small number, but it’s something to start with. I hope I will be able to visit more before the end of my days. I went through the pictures I took while I was in these places, and I came up with this small album; this way you can say that, like me, you have visited these places 🙂 (for the places I could not find pics of I just took the pics from the UNESCO website (copyright included :)))

La Grande Place, Brussels - Belgium

Historic Center of Brugge - Belgium

Mont Saint Michel and its bay - France

Palace and Park of Versailles - France

Strasbourg, Grande Ile - France

Paris, Banks of the Seine - France

Anjar - Lebanon

Baalbeck - Lebanon

Byblos - Lebanon

Tyre - Lebanon

Ouadi Qadisha (the Holy Valley) and the Forest of the Cedars of God (Horsh Arz el-Rab) - Lebanon

City of Luxembourg: its Old Quarters and Fortifications - Luxembourg

Works of Antoni Gaudi - Spain

How many of the properties have you visited? I’m sure you can beat my number 😀

See you tomorrow!
