As part of our tourism week end, we went with our friends today further up in the north of France, to a very nice village called Bergues. If you have seen the French movie “Bienvenue chez les Ch’tis” you will definitely recognize the place because this is where the movie was shot.

It was a very nice day, with a blue sky and enough sunshine to make it warm and not hot, and it was perfect for the lovely village. I will definitely add it to the list of places I will think of retiring in some day 🙂

Look at this beautiful sky (this picture is taken while we were driving)

One of Bergues' gates

Bergues belfry and carillon

If you're visiting a the north of France you have to have the regional beer (Chti is the french nickname for the people living in the North)

Canal with the houses surrounding it

The houses are all constructed stuck together

Another view of the canal

On our way back home we did a small detour and went to take a look at the English Channel. Talk about a romantic day!

Better just watch the sea and not try to dive in it because it's really cold!

Sun setting on France

See you tomorrow!
