Tuesday March 27th, 2012

When we first arrived to the city of Blois on Sunday noon, it was all empty; we figured it must be normal, the citizens will be having lunch and it’s not a touristic period so we might not meet a lot of strangers. We went straight to the chateau to start our visit; after all this is what we came here for!

Enormous was our surprise when we left the castle after 1 hour (60 minutes stuck between the 15th and the 19th centuries, learning the history of Blois and the castle) and found that the street is now full of people! Kids in disguise, grown ups with their cameras, all standing on the side of the road looking at one thing: the Spring Carnival passing by!

We didn’t plan our visit to Blois, and for sure we didn’t plan to come on the day of the carnival; but while we’re here, would we miss the opportunity of feeling like kids again? Definitely not!

Being a planning freak, I will have to admit that this unplanned week end was the best vacation I had in a long time 🙂

See you tomorrow!
