Monday June 4th, 2012

If you happen to be in Paris until the 10th of June, like to watch Tennis games but were not able to buy your Roland Garros tickets, or maybe you cannot afford to buy tickets, or even you do not have a TV at home (or in the hotel where you’re staying), do not panick!

The French Tennis Federation has thought about you: now you can watch the games in the middle of the city, on a giant screen; all you need to do is go to the Hotel de Ville, take a seat on the giant orange mat placed there for the occasion, and enjoy the show.

Even though it wasn’t sunny and warm on Sunday when we were there, the area was full of fans enjoying the match, and curious people passing by wanting to see what’s going on.

Notice that the mat is shaped and colored like a tennis court

The screen

Even if you have a TV at home, I advise you to go watch the games there; the people, the decor, the ambiance, the giant screen, all these makes you feel as if you’re sitting in the court watching. If you want additional info, you can check the website here.

See you tomorrow!

For the US Tennis Open, they also have giant screens outside the stadium. So I can sit in the cafe area (but still inside the tennis park grounds) and watch the matches!
